Contra Costa County, California tornado warning canceled
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA (BNO NEWS) -- A tornado warning that had been issued for Contra Costa County in California on Saturday has expired, the National Weather Service said in a bulletin.
Trained weather spotters reported a funnel cloud was on the ground near Brentwood just before 2 p.m. local time, moving southeast at five miles per hour. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties. A shelter in place was briefly issued for Discovery Bay.
"The cell that prompted the tornado warning has weakened," the National Weather Service in San Francisco said. "Therefore, the tornado warning has been allowed to expire."
